not only...but also...，表示「不僅...而且還...」
是對等連接詞，所連接的兩個單字或片語必須是相同的詞性。

Ex: The therapist not only hypnotizes you but also gives you medicine to relax.
      治療師不僅催眠你，還給你放鬆的藥物。






＊not only...but also...用來連接兩個主詞時，動詞要與較靠近的主詞一致。

Ex: Not only the team members but also the mascot was in the photograph.
      照片裡不只有隊員還有吉祥物。






＊not only 放到句首，連接兩個子句時，not only的子句要倒裝。also可以省略，也可以用句末的too或as well代替。

Ex: Not only did Mark parachute out of a plane, but he bungee jumped off a bridge.
      馬克不只從飛機上跳傘下來，而且還從橋上高空彈跳。

Ex: Not only was the hotel paid for but the rental car was (paid for) as well.
      飯店的錢付過了，租車的錢也是。
